A proposed move by the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM) is expected to include nail-biting as a form of obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) when it is revised for 2013.

Dr. François Lespérance and colleagues launched the largest study ever undertaken to assess complementary nutritional therapy over conventional antidepressant treatment: the treatment of depression with omega-3. This study is the result of a follow-up of 432 patients diagnosed with major depression, from moderate to severe. The conclusions reached and published in The Journal of Clinical Psychiatry tells us that "omega-3 represents a new avenue for treating depression." The results and conclusions of this study will be presented by Dr. Lespérance.
